NLC recants, embarks on nationwide strike over fuel subsidy

The Nigeria Labour Congress has recanted on its earlier decision no not to go on strike because of the fuel subsidy removed by the Federal Government and will now commence a nationwide strike Wednesday.

The strike will be embarked upon if the government fails to reverse the new pump price for Premium Motor Spirit.

The national president of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, made this known during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.

This comes amid fuel shortages across the country occasioned by President Bola Tinubu’s inaugural speech, in which he declared that “fuel subsidy is gone”.

The NLC also noted that it would no longer negotiate with individuals without portfolios.
